Joas Beachy

Beachy .- Joas, son of Simon and Mary Ann (Helmuth) Beachy, was born at Arthur, Ill., June 2, 1918; died an accidental death in a factory at Middlebury, Ind., Sept. 22, 1981; aged 63 y. On Nov. 4, 1943, he was married to Marie Troyer, who survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters (Mrs. Naomi Walters, Mrs. Mary Lou Jennings, and Lois-Mrs. Dan Stimax), 5 sons (Leonard, Glenn, Dewey, Nelson, and Willard), 3 sisters (Alpha-Mrs. Noah Otto, Sovilla-Mrs. Levi Hershberger, and Nettie-Mrs. Howard Yoder), and 4 brothers (Harvey, Floyd, Clarence, and Aden). He was a member of First Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Sept. 25, in charge of Samuel J. Troyer and Orvin Hooley; interment in Ivens Cemetery.

Amanda Maust

Maust.- Amanda, daughter of George and Malinda (Hess) Martin, was born in Elkhart Co., Ind., Mar. 5, 1886; died at the LuAnn Nursing Home, Nappanee, Ind., Sept. 19, 1981; aged 95 y. In August 1909, she was married to Douglas Maust, who died on Sept. 12, 1959. Surviving are 3 daughters (Bernice-Mrs. Henry Short, Arvilla-Mrs. Forrest Anglemyer, and Anabel-Mrs. Lowell Hartman), one son (Herb Maust), 15 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. She was a member of Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Sept. 21, in charge of Bob Detweiler and Steve Chupp; interment in Yellow Creek Cemetery.

Ada M Hartman

Hartman - Ada M, daughter of Noah S and Sarah (Kreider) Hoover, was born in Elkhart Co, Ind, May 27, 1890; died following cancer surgery, at Goshen, Ind, July 25, 1977; aged 87 y. On Jan 1, 1916, she was married to Abram Hartman, who died on May 8, 1964. Surviving are 2 daughters (Vesta - Mrs Earl Weaver, and Doris -Mrs Dale Reinhardt), 4 sons (Lowell, Lester, Ira, and Paul), 30 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one sister (Mrs Anna Bollman). She was a member of Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on July 27, in charge of Bob Detweiler; interment in Yellow Creek Cemetery.

Elmer E Stutzman

Stutzman- Elmer E. , son of Eli and Mary (Troyer) Stutzman, was born in Jasper Co., Ind., July 30, 1889; died in the home of his son Henry near Arthur, Ill., on Jan, 11, 1973, at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 12 days. On Dec. 22, 1910, he was married to Sally Briskey, she passed away Apr. 20, 1951, living in matrimony over 40 years. To this union were born 4 children: Mrs. Abraham A. (Elizabeth Ann) Schrock of Arthur; Clarence E. of Sullivan, Ill.; and Wm. Henry of Arthur, Ill.; Melvin died in infancy. He was married the second time to Mrs. Mary Ann (Helmuth) Beachy, Nov. 15, 1953; she died Feb. 20, 1968. He leaves to mourn his departure: 1 daughter, 2 sons mentioned above, also 3 step daughters and 5 step sons, Mrs. Noah (Alpha) Otto, Arcola, Ill.; Mrs. Levi (Sovilla) Herschberger, Arthur; Mrs. Howard (Nettie) Yoder, Arthur; Harvey S. Beachy, Lafayette, Ind.; Joas S. Beachy, Middlebury, Ind.; Clarence S. Beachy, Manitou Beach, Mich.; Floyd S. Beachy, Bethany, Ill.; and Aden S....

Sylvia Agnes Blocher

Sylvia Agnes Blocher, 76, 1445 Strong St, Elkhart, died Sunday in the Turtle Creek Nursing Home, Elkhart, where she had been a patient since Tuesday. A native of Wakarusa, Mrs Blocher was born Oct. 19, 1894, and was married to Arthur Blocher in 1916. Surviving are her husband; three sons, Arthur C Jr, Ernest and Howard, all of Elkhart; three daughters, Mrs George (Florence) Fadenrecht, Ellensburg, Wash, Mrs Dale (Vera) Moser, Chula Vista, Calif, and Mrs Wayne (Ruth) Emerson, Elkhart; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, Elmer and Irvin Canen, both of Modesto, Calif, John Canen, Elkhart, and Arthur Paulus, Wakarusa; and three sisters, Mrs Merlie Lechlitner, Wakarusa, Mrs Dorothy Null, Goshen, and Mrs Katheryn Cook, Modesto, Calif. Services were held today at the Beulah Missionary Church in Elkhart with the Rev D Paul Hartman officiating. Burial was in Olive Cemetery.

Iola Bareilles Niebauer

Iola Bareilles Niebauer She was born in Gustine, California, raised in Palo Alto, died suddenly after a brief illness at age 89. Iola lived and worked in San Francisco and, in 1953, moved to Marin County with her husband. She was preceded in death by her late husband, John J. Niebauer . She is survived by her loving step-son, John J. Niebauer , MD and his wife, Jean, four step- grandchildren, Skip, Peter and Doug Niebauer and Patricia Hendrickson and five step-great grandchildren. Mass will be on Friday, October 4th, at 10:00 AM at St. Patricks Church, 114 King Street, Larkspur. Friends and family are invited. Interment to follow at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, San Rafael, CA. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations to the American Cancer Society.
