BIOGRAPHY

FUNERAL:  10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Justin White officiating.


VISITATION:  4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Tuesday.


BURIAL:  Garland Brook Cemetery.

Cheryl (Dickey) Dieckmann, 52, passed away at 3:44 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana’s Inpatient Facility.
Cheryl was born Dec. 25, 1963, in Columbus. She was the daughter of James K. and Sharon (Ray) Dickey. Cheryl attended Parkside Elementary, Northside Middle School and Columbus North High School. She graduated from Columbus North in 1982. She graduated from Ball State University in 1987 with a degree in education, and received her Masters in education in 1996 from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Cheryl married Brian Dieckmann July 2, 1989, in Columbus. They were married for 27 years and had two children, Joshua and Jennifer. Her only grandchild, Allison Rose Dieckmann, was born to Joshua and his wife Maria Dec. 2, 2015. Cheryl loved spending time with family including her many pets.
Cheryl taught chemistry and biology from 1987 to 1994 at Southwestern (Shelby) High School. She was then hired at Columbus North High School where she taught chemistry and biology from 1994 until 2016. Cheryl was also a volunteer with the Community Animal Rescue Effort fostering numerous dogs and cats.
Cheryl was considered to be an inspiring mentor to her students and colleagues alike. She believed that every student was capable of success and spent countless hours before and after school encouraging them to reach their full potential.

Cheryl is survived by her mother, Sharon of Columbus; husband, Brian of Columbus; son, Joshua (Maria); and granddaughter, Allison Rose of Junction City, Kansas; daughter, Jennifer of Columbus; brother, Greg (Nickcola) Dickey of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and sister, Julie (Nick) Woolls of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her father, James K Dickey.

Lillian Sue Howell

MIDDLEBURY — Lillian Sue Howell, 69, of Middlebury, died at 11:02 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, at her residence. She was born July 2, 1949, in Johnson County, Kentucky, to Reuben and Barbara (Blair) Webb. On March 8, 1969, in Floyd County, Kentucky, she married Billy Howell; he survives. Survivors in addition to her husband are a son and his wife, two granddaughters, and her father. She was preceded in death by her mother.
