Francis Marion Loper: Wednesday, November-6-1929 The Morning Call (Laurel Mississippi). Death Call Aged Farmer Tuesday A.M. F.M. Loper Passes Away After Extended Illness. After an illness extending over a period of several months, F.M. Loper, aged 72 years, died at 9:30 o'clock Tuesday morning at the South Mississippi Hospital of senility and a complication of dieseases. His condition has been serious for several days and a member of his children were at the institution at the time of his demise. The deceased was a resident of the Strengthford community where he had made his home for many years. He was one of the best known and oldest residents there. He was a memer of the Baptist church and had been an officer of the board for years, giving up this responsibility owning to advanced age. Mrs Daniel Longfield, 63, who had been in failing health for sometime and quite ill the past two months, died suddenly at five o'clock Friday morning, following a heart attack in their home at Oak Grove. When Mr Longfield returned from the barn he found Mrs Longfield lying on the floor in the bed room. He picked her up and placed her on the bed where she passed away a few minutes after. Her maiden name was Nettie May Smeltzer, eldest daughter in a family of six children born to Michael and Mary Smeltzer. She was born near here June 19, 1878. She was united in marriage to Daniel Longfield in March 5, 1898 and has lived all her married life in the home where she passed away. One son, James, was born to this union. He resides in Nappanee. Surviving besides the husband and son, are a granddaughter, Verda, one brother, Lloyd Smeltzer of Bryant, Ind, three sisters, Mrs Beulah Myers of Sidney, Mrs Ben Fisher of southwest of town and Mrs Glover Jackson, north of town. Mrs Mary B Smeltzer , 80, died Thursday afternoon at Sidney, Ind, where she went a week ago to visit her son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs Roy Myers. She suffered a stroke of paralysis Sunday morning, and the second one on Wednesday. The daughter of Mr and Mrs James Neely, Mrs Smeltzer was born in Ashland, Ohio, on November 2, 1859. She was married to Michael Smeltzer, who died 38 years ago. They lived in Wakarusa and vicinity all their married life, except for one year which was spent in Manchester, Tenn. Since 1914 Mrs. Smeltzer had lived with her children. She leaves one son, Lloyd, of Pennville, Ind; four daughters, Mrs Nettie Longfield and Mrs Laura Fisher if near Nappanee; Mrs Beulah Myters of Sidney and Mrs Lillie Jackson of four miles north of town; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs Laura Liesh, of Lakewood, Ohio; a half-brother, Henry Neely of Elkhart, and a half-sister, Mrs Ralph Conine, of Ohio. Emma Jane Patrick: Laurel Leader Call Wednesday, May-18-1938 Mrs. Emma Loper Is Laid to Rest on Wednesday Eve. Mr. Emma Loper, 80, beloved resident of Cross Street, died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Cynthia Cooley, Tuesday afternoon, May-17, at 2:35 o'clock. Funeral Services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Myrick church, with the Rev. J.W. Fagan officiating. interment was in the Myrick cemetery. Members of the family surviving are her sons, T. M. and D.M. Loper of Waynesboro, W.O. Loper of Hattiesburg, Z.L., B.C and E.E. Loper of Laurel; four daughters, Mrs. E.J. Langley of Ovett, Mrs. Cynthia Cooley of Laurel, Mrs. Mae Jordan of Waynesboro, and Mrs. Lee Dunagin of Laurel. Active pallbearers were T. U. Collins, L.H. Beverly, Charlie Walters, A.D.Peden, E. D. Hurst and Shelton Rogers.

Maust.--Kathryn Elizabeth Maust, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Maust, was born July 15, 1916, at Nappanee, Ind.; died May 11, 1923; aged 6 y. 9 m. 26 d. Kathryn was the oldest of a family of four children and was of a very sunny disposition, making friends everywhere she went. She attended Sunday school at the North Main Street Mennonite Church. She was sick of the "flu," then of measles, which were followed by complications resulting in death, after a three weeks' sickness. She is survived by the parents, three sisters: Gertrude, Margaret, and Virginia; Mr. and Mrs. Will Wise of Wakarusa, Ind., and Bro. and Sister Frank Maust of Nappanee, Ind., as grandparents; also a great-grandfather, Levi Wise of North Liberty, Ind., and others. On account of the measles at the home the funeral was held at the home of Bro. Frank Maust at Nappanee, Ind., in the afternoon of May 13. Funeral was conducted by Brethren J. W. Hess and Silas Weldy. Clipp, Lloyd, was born near Elkhart, Ind., Dec. 8, 1889; died July 5, 1965; aged 75 y. 6 m. 27 d. On April 4, 1917, he was married to Bessie Maust, who survives. Also surviving are one son (James), 2 grandchildren, one brother (Ralph), and 4 sisters (Carrie Plank, Mabel Smyth, Abbie Hardwick, and Blanche Marks). He was a member of the Olive Church, where funeral services were held, in charge of Elno Steiner and D. A. Yoder.

Frank Winsman, 77, of Randall, died Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock in Amsterdam following a lingering illness.  Mr. Winsman was born in Stone Ridge, Town of Glen, June 17, 1877, a son of Henry and Minerva Wagner Winsman. He spent his early life in Stone Ridge, later moving to Randall where he has since resided.   In 1904, Mr. Winsman married Emma Lusso of Randall.  He was employed as a pan pumper at Yosts for the New York Central Railroad. He retired in 1953 after working there for 40 years.   Survivors are two sons, Charles Winsman of Randall, and Franklin Winsman of Caroga Lake; two daughters, Mrs. Stuart Cotton of Canajoharie, and Mrs. Gordon Hinkle of Randall; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Hoteling of Middleburg; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
