Amy Louise Parrish Jett

RICHMOND - Amy Louise Parrish Jett, 98, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 27, 1917 to Lula Wheeler and Jerry Parrish, and grew up in Madison County. She graduated from Model Lab. School in 1933 and married Paul Jett. She was the mother of four children: Emily Ellen Jett (deceased), Sally Smathers Davis (Richard) of Campton, NH, Sue Ann Reeves, and Paul David Jett both of Richmond, Kentucky. In 1970, she obtained a BS degree in Vocal Performance from Eastern Kentucky University. She sang in many choirs, including The Lexington Singers and The First Presbyterian Church chancel choir. For many years she volunteered each Sunday morning at the Pattie A. Clay Hospital with the Samaritan Singers,singing hymns to the patients and staff. She was a member of the Cecilian Club for 70+ years which is affiliated with the Kentucky Federation of Music Clubs and the National Federation of Music Clubs. She held the office...

Roger Lee Holdeman

SOUTH BEND – Roger Lee Holdeman, 65, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away at 8:55 PM Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Signature Health Care, South Bend. Roger was born on December 12, 1949 in Bremen, Indiana to the late Charles Holdeman and Francis (Klingerman) Holdeman and has been a lifelong resident of this area, graduating from Bremen High School. Roger was previously married to Diane (Sailor) Holdeman, the mother of Christopher and Suzanne. Diane has preceded him in death in July of 1980.  He later married Frances (Severance) Holdeman, the mother of Roger, II. Frances has also preceded him in death. On October 29, 1995 he was united in marriage to Patricia (Becker) Holdeman, who survives. Roger worked at Dodge Manufacturing for many years and later worked as a meat cutter at Walmart and at Meijer.  Early in his life he enjoyed coaching softball and being a groundskeeper. James Kaye Dickey October 6, 1935 - May 10, 2015 Obituary James K. "Jim" Dickey, 79, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, May 10, 2015, at Four Seasons Health Care Center. Jim was born October 6, 1935, in Columbus, the son of James and Mildred Warner Dickey. He married Sharon Kay Ray June 14, 1959. He was a 1953 graduate of Columbus High School where he was a member of the marching band. He loved to play the trumpet and was a member of the Rhythm Airs and the Modernairs Orchestra in the 1950s. After high school, he attended Indiana Business College and started working for Cummins in 1955. He was price control manager when he retired after 30 years, in April of 1985. After retiring from Cummins, he worked as the bookkeeper for Ray's Marathon. He was a fan of westerns, especially John Wayne movies. Roger Lee Holdeman II, 32, of South Bend, IN passed away at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at his home.  He was born on April 1, 1982 in Mishawaka, IN. Roger is survived by his father, Roger Lee (Pat) Holdeman of South Bend, IN; four sisters, Michelle (Dave) Bevins of Mishawaka, IN, Melinda (Mark) Uptgraft of Michigan City, IN, Maria Morrison of Michigan City, IN and Suzanne (Michael) Ewing of South Bend, IN; brother, Chris Holdeman of South Bend, IN; step-brother, Trevor Thor, II of Kalamazoo, MI; three step-sisters, Angie of California, Wendy of Elwood, IN, and Heather of Elwood, IN;  and stepfather, Trevor Thor of Three Rivers, MI. He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances (Severance) Thor. Roger was a lifelong resident.  He was employed as a roofer for Apex Exteriors for thirteen years. James David Housley May 29, 1949 - Dec. 2, 2014 BREMEN - James David Housley, 65, of Bremen, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Bremen Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Dave was born May 29, 1949, in Lucedale, Mississippi, to Grady and Dorothy (Carter) Housley. On March 15, 1969, he married Pamela Jean Cox, who preceded him in death. There is a line from a popular song that asks, "How do you measure the life of a man?" In Dave's case it is the love he leaves behind. The love he shared with "his Pam", the love he shared with his daughters, with his grandchildren, and with his family and friends. Dave's life will be measured through his kindness, his intelligence, his sense of humor and, of course, his resilience. Throughout the past nine years, Dave never let adversity knock him down.
